Inspired by Japanese manga covers and their distinctive approach to visual storytelling, this fashion editorial explores the intersection of photography, fashion and Japanese pop culture. Created in collaboration with RUN Management and photographed by Uyen Saint-Tran, the project draws from a world where characters are defined by their individuality, attitude and the stories they seem to carry.
In manga, a single cover can introduce an entire universe. Through gestures, expressions and personal style, each character suggests a personality and a narrative that extends beyond the image. This fascination with character-building became the starting point for the editorial, approaching each model as the protagonist of an imagined story.
The project also reflects the influence of Japanese visual culture on contemporary fashion, where the boundaries between illustration, photography and personal identity are constantly being reinterpreted. Rather than recreating manga literally, the intention was to explore its narrative sensibility through the language of fashion photography.
At its heart, the editorial is a tribute to the imagination and visual storytelling of manga, celebrating its ability to turn a single image into the beginning of an entire story.
