Bali, but not the Bali you'd expect. For Sarah Pacini, the island became the setting for a photographic and content series somewhere between a fashion editorial, a travel diary and an improvised studio. Far from the familiar imagery of tropical escapism, the collection found its place in a more curious, less polished version of Bali.
A handstand balanced on a stool. A portrait against a makeshift canvas. An ordinary afternoon surrounded by volcanic stone. Scenes that feel almost accidental, yet carry a quiet sense of intention. The kind of moments that could belong to a film, without necessarily having a story to explain them.
Throughout the series, the contrast between carefully constructed silhouettes and imperfect surroundings creates an unusual dialogue. Architecture, movement, natural textures and unexpected gestures become as much a part of the composition as the garments themselves.
There is something deliberately understated about it all. No postcard landscapes, no exaggerated sense of luxury, no need to turn every image into a statement. Just an exploration of how fashion can inhabit a place without having to look like it belongs there.
